I am Stefanie Compton, and I am the Residence Manager here at the Villages at Greystone. We opened our doors to The Villages at Greystone Senior Living Community and moved in our first resident on November 1, 1998. Until then, the closest Assisted Living similar to ours was over an hour away for anyone living in the Beckley area and surrounding counties. Many people now tell me that we were "Heaven Sent".
The Villages at Greystone is very unique in the types of services we offer. One may think we are similar to any old nursing home, but that is the farthest from the truth. The entire staff of The Villages at Greystone focuses daily on providing excellent customer service, maintaining a comfortable home-like atmosphere and a family like relationship with every resident and their families. Almost all of our families tell us that we have spoiled their parents rotten. We take comments such as this as an ultimate compliment!!!
While we do take care of health care issues as they arise with our 24 hour a day nursing staff, we also try each day to revolve EVERYTHING around FUN! When you stop by, be sure to say hello to our community Hound dog, Milo. She is a local celebrity being featured in the Register Herald for winning "Favorite Dog" at our annual Pet Pow Wow. We think the fame has gone to her head though, she now likes to go by Mi Mi Lu Lu, she likes to think she is as pretty as a Yorkshire Terrier.
These are just a few of the things that create the atmosphere that means so much to everyone at The Villages at Greystone. Anytime someone walks into our community they become part of our very large, extended family. Our goal is to make each person feel right at home, just like they were at Grandma's house. Come for a visit, we may just bake you some of Grandma's homemade cookies for a little treat! Anyone is welcome to visit with us at any time of the day or night, we're not picky. We enjoy all of our guests whether we plan for them or they surprise us. When you visit make sure you have time to join us for a home cooked meal; you won't be sorry you stopped by -"I PROMISE".
We look forward to hearing from you soon and would like to make you a part of our family.
